Last week we hosted a very special evening with Laurent-Perrier, in which guests were served a delicious 5-course meal each accompanied with a specially selected Champagne pairing.
Laurent-Perrier’s rich 200-year history was wonderfully brought to life by Brigitte Hennessy. English’s are proud to call Laurent-Perrier our signature Champagne and this evening was a fantastic opportunity to hear the
expertise of a well-informed brand ambassador.
The brilliantly informative Brigitte thoroughly enjoyed the evening, saying: “The food was absolutely delicious – it’s the first time I’ve eaten at
English’s. The pairings worked well and your team were great.” Guests were welcomed on arrival with delicious canapés that were served with La Cuvée; a Champagne of great finesse and a beautiful freshness obtained after a long ageing process.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an English’s event without a serving of our
signature oysters, accompanied with Ultra Brut NV; a traditional tasting high-quality Champagne but with no added sugars.
The next two courses of crab ravioli and Cornish monkfish were served with a highly intense and fruity Cuvée Rosé, followed by a perfectly
blended Grand Siècle.
Finally, for dessert, a bitter chocolate panna cotta was served alongside a Harmony demi-sec, which charms the nose and palate with its roast
almond and hazelnut notes.
We received fantastic feedback from those in attendance. Julian and Yveline Pelling said: “The champagnes were fantastic and we were very happy to take advantage of the offer and buy one of each. We would certainly like to see many more such events.”
Anna and Martin said: “Brigitte’s talk was really interesting and confidently presented. The table decoration made us feel very special and the canapés were delicious and welcoming. Please put the salmon straws on the menu immediately!”
Our General Manager, Nick Emmott, said: “It was our great pleasure to
create dishes to marry with the excellent Champagnes from Maison
Laurent-Perrier. All our guests had a wonderful evening, new friendships were made and Brigitte was excellent in giving us an insight into all things
Laurent-Perrier. We look forward to hosting more of these events in 2018.”
