New Rules, New Menus

Following the recent changes to the hospitality sector by the government, we wanted to let you know what this means when customers dine at English’s. We’ve also have some exciting new menus that have just launched so there’s lots happening as we head into autumn.

Trying to be “old normal” while keeping you safe

You will be aware of the new rules and restrictions for the hospitality industry and we want to reassure you that whilst we are taking every measure possible to ensure the safety of customers, visitors and staff, we are keeping everything as normal as possible at English’s. We have been paying careful and strict attention to rules and best practises since we reopened in July and regularly review our procedures to see if they can be improved.

Please be aware that it is now compulsory to wear a face covering when moving around the restaurant and terrace when not seated.

10:00pm closing rule

Please be aware that the new 10:00 PM closing rule (introduced from Thursday 24th September until further notice) means that we actually have to be closed by 10:00 PM. All diners must be off the premises by 10:00 PM. To accommodate this, last bookings will now be at 8:30 PM. We are open all day from 12:00 midday so why not have a long lunch or supper instead of a late dinner!

New menus

It’s not all rules and regulations, however, and we’re excited to have just launched our new autumn menus, including refreshed versions of the A La Carte, Kids and Lobster Day Menus as well as a new sublime Tasting Menu from head chef, Yuri Magni, with tasting dishes such as swordfish thermidor and scallops, pumpkin pearl barley risotto, mint. Yum!

Lobster Friday

The popular Lobster Day also returns every Friday with a new menu and half a lobster now at £18 and a whole £36.

Set menus

Our Set Menu sees a revamp in terms of dishes and (lower) prices – it’s now two dishes for £20 and three for £25.

Heated terrace

Lastly, there’s our heated terrace with new heaters and blankets so you can carry on dining al fresco. There’s certainly an autumn chill starting to lace the air, but you can still enjoy dining outside at English’s and even if snow arrives it’s still going to be nice and toasty!

Thank you for your continued support of English’s and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
