White Wine – England
Lyme Bay Bacchus Fumé 2014, Devon, (11.0% abv)
Better known for its country and fruit wines Lyme Bay is a relative newcomer in the English’s wine stakes. 26,000 vines were planted in 2010 and 2014 was the first vintage. Located in East Devon, the grapes are handpicked and particular care is taken during the production process. A complex wine, fermented with wild yeast and transferred to French oak barriques for six months. The result gives hints of grapefruit, spicy oak and lemon, with an exceptionally long finish.
