Wine Tasting with Bibendum

Following on from our recent morning of wine training with one of our favourite suppliers, Luca from Passione Vino, we were joined by another one of our fantastic wine suppliers; Simon Greenhalgh from Bibendum. We’ve worked with Bibendum for almost three years, they’re a fantastic supplier, and it’s always a great afternoon spent trying a number of new wines with Simon.

Earlier in the month the Sommelier Awards 2014 were held, and a number of the wines that can be found on our wine list were given medals. The winning wines that are supplied to us by Bibendum are:

• Chablis, Domaine Jean Defaix, Burgundy, France – Gold
• Sauvignon Blanc, Spy Valley, Marlborough, New Zealand – Silver
• Vire Clesse, le Mont Chatelaine, Jean Rijckaert, Burgundy, France – Bronze

Keep an eye out for these wines on our current wine list – you know you’re in for a treat if you order one of these bottles! We’re really proud of our wine list – a lot of thought goes into choosing what makes the list and what doesn’t, and nothing gets added without being tasted first. Our staff all know a thing or two as well, so if you’re looking for a perfect match for your main course – just ask!
